152.0. "Pointer to Maps of DOOM2?" by VMSSG::DEANE () Wed Dec 07 1994 15:39

Can someone give me a pointer to the maps of the levels in DOOM2? I'm
looking for Postscript files.

Thanks in advance

    There is something on FLYTE that will do exactly this. Can't remember
    the filename but it's probably in [ARCHIVE.DOOM.MISC].

    It requires an Ultrix machine (or possibly OSF/1).

    Let me know if you have problems unzipping the file, we've been having
    trouble recently ;-)

    Cheers,

    I don't know if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but for those
    web-surfers out there who don't already know, there is a page :

    http://www.cts.com/~pjf/d2secrets/d2secrets.html

    This gives all the doom ][ secrets, and presents them in doom graphical
    map format with descriptions of how to trigger them.

    Gary,

    Read sofbas::internet_tools

    Or ask around the UNIX guys in the CSC, or ask anyone in the CSC if
    they have a World Wide Web connection.

The stuff on the web is great but I really want postcript files of the
levels. Note .1 mentions the stuff on FLYTE, but I can't seem to get
to anything (not enough pointer info).

I want the PS files so I can play the game at home and have a hardcopy of the
levels for reference.

    If you use MOSAIC, you can save pages as .PS files. Look under the FILE
    pull-down, under SAVE AS

    Hi Folks,

    I tried the www pointer in .2 but it doesn't seem to do anything.

    I'm using Netscape and get an error "404 Not Found, The requested
    URL/~pjf/d2secrets/d2secrets.html was not found on this server"

    Any ideas ?

    This DMPS thing (DMPS20.ZIP) is excellent! It makes great PostScript
    maps of any WAD!

    Pointer Info :

152.14where are they hiding ???SALEM::JENNAS::NEARYTue Jun 06 1995 11:559
    Is there any way that I can get these scerets. My reader will not
    access this site. I would like to download to a VMS account and the
    copy onto a dos machine (softpc) to bring home.

    By the way are the secerets the same for DOOM and DOOM2 (I have DOOM2)

    Thanks,

    Just for you (and it won't be there for long) you can grab DMPS20.ZIP
    from :

    FORTY2::USER4:[HOWELL.PUBLIC]DMPS20.ZIP

    Please note this is *not* the maps, just a utility to create the maps
    if *you've* got the .WAD (which presumably you have).

    Hope the helps,
    Dan

    likewise for DOOM_PS2.ZIP....

    [I think they're probably one in the same thing!]
