| I'm working on this (updating FLYTE with the latest from .indiana!)
While I'm doing this it should hopefully cure your problem at the same
time. You could try the file DE_260B4.ZIP this is DoomEd for Windows
v2.6 beta 4. It's the same thing (more or less).

141.2 | Am I out os sync here ? | VESSA::MICHAELSONJ | Dedicated BUGger | Tue Nov 08 1994 04:00 | 9 |
| Hi,
Does anyone know the status of DoomEd "The Real Thing" version 3.1b (or is that
what Dan is on about?)? Does it provide support for Doom ][ ? I am able to create
maps for Doom ][ with v2.60b, the new textures are there, but the features
(monsters and d-barrelled etc) aren't, and I am having to use a program to patch the
level value !!

141.3 | Can't UNZIP DE_260B4 either! | CSC32::T_HUTCHIN | | Tue Nov 15 1994 11:25 | 19 |

RE: .1
Thanks for the pointer to DE_260B4. Unfortunately, this one isn't
working either:
"file fails CRC check"
"file has bad table"
I'm using the same 204G PKUNZIP on other ZIP files I've pulled off
the net so I don't THINK it's the unzipper. Copied this file off
twice then did a VMS DIFF on it in case the copy was corrupted.
VMS says it's a variable-sequential file.
This is getting real weird. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Terry

| Cripes! When I've got some spare time (and can get onto ftp.orst.edu)
I'll download the whole of the EDITORS section and replace in onto
flyte....
DOOMED21, BTW, is no longer on .orst I think it's been 'discontinued'
;-)

Thanks Dan; I appreciate the effort.
When I see some of the work being done by people using these editors
it makes me itch to get my hands on one.

141.6 | Use Bilf? | HOTLNE::DOYLE | | Tue Nov 15 1994 16:05 | 7 |
| Some of them need to be "bilfed" before you unpackem.
I was successful unziping the editor you named ("DE_260B4.ZIP")
after doing this.

Ed,
OK, I'll bite: what is "bilfed"?

141.8 | Bilf.exe | HOTLNE::DOYLE | | Tue Nov 15 1994 18:26 | 6 |
| Bilf.exe,CVTARC.exe and a few others are programs for taking
variable-length record formats and changing them to stream-LF format.
Usually used when a file is copied from a unix enviroment to VMS.

Ed,
Bingo.
It's been so many years since I've needed CVARC that I forgot
all about it.
Thanks,

| Well I got hold of a convertor and I'm currently converting every .ZIP
on FLYTE to 512-fixed length, so if you want to re-try any files they
should work soon.
Cheers,
Dan
