122.0. "Right Mouse Button" by GLDOA::LITZENBERG () Mon Sep 12 1994 16:41

    Fellow DOOMers, has anyone had this problem? I have been using DOOM
    for a year or so, but just the original shareware version. I know I
    should register. Anyway, I recently bought the ver 1.2 shareware and
    loaded it. Now my right mouse button doesn't do a forward move. It
    always did before. What's happening here?

    Thanks,
    Jim Litz

    Wot's the correct mouse driver to use? I thought I was using the latest
    Logitech one I could find, however Doom seems to give and error saying
    : Incorrect MOuse driver, no SWIFT support (it flashes past during
    startup).

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Cheers,

    no SWIFT support ?!? Never ever heard of this one, matey!

    Could you..umm...'borrow' another mouse driver just to test it out? Is
    there any such thing as a shareware mouse driver on
    TRINTY::PD1:[MSDOS...] et al?

    Which machine is this on, the laptop?

    Can't help you Greg, I use an MS bus mouse and never have a sniff of a
    problem with it (them actually).

    Cheers, Laurie.

    	My MS mouse works perfectly well. but I also get the "No Swift"
    response during the Doom II boot up.

    	What does it mean anyway?

122.13No CybermanDLJ::DLJPC1::jenningsWhat, me worry?Wed Dec 07 1994 09:422
The "No SWIFT support" means that you don't have a Logitech Cyberman controller.
The Cyberman is a mouse/joystick combination designed expressly for game use.

    Normally your mouse driver (loaded somewhere in autoexec, most
    probably) can have keys/options passed to it, such as (for example)

    c:\ mouse com2:

    Would specify the mouse is plugged into com2, etc.

    Do a "mouse /?" (or whatever your mouse driver is called, imouse, or
    whatever, etc.....) to see any options.

    This is all I can really think of. :-[ Soz!

    Gary,

    do a mem/c from DOS and see if a mouse driver if loaded into memory.

    or when you first boot up as soon as the sys say ms-dos hit the f8 key
    then all commands in you config.sys and autoexec.bat will ask for a y
    or n to execute towards the end of the autoexec.bat one of the prompts
    will be for the mouse driver if not then your driver is not installed.
