64.0. "Doom Utilities" by KAOA00::KAOP97::SOWREY (Son of Worf) Wed Jun 29 1994 09:27

I suppose since we don't already have a topic devoted to Doom
utilities, that we should reserve one for just that purpose...

Found a new little gadget yesterday, that I haven't really had a lot
of time to fool around with, but looks like it can be a lot of fun.
It's called DeHackEd, and it's an editor for the DOOM.EXE file.

WARNING: MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF YOUR DOOM.EXE FILE BEFORE EDITING IT

You can now change those variables that have always annoyed you...

- Edit the Ammo tables!
- Make demons float
- Create plasma mines
- Super fast rockets
- Take out the Cyberdemon with ONE PUNCH! (Okay, I don't know if this
is actually possible, but why not?)

You can find this neat little doodad at:

I have tried using Dmgraph to extract doom graphics using the
    command

    	DMGRAPH graphic_name -e graphic.gif

The file graphic.gif is created but using either Gifview or
    paintshop, I get the message

    	Not a valid gif file.

I have also tried with switch -t gif,but with the same result.

    	Anyone know why?
