61.0. "How to handle new WADs ???" by LYO02::CAMPS () Mon Jun 27 1994 12:21

    Hello,

    With the bunch of WAD files available now , it gets more and more
    difficult to handle them.
    More difficult is to find the exact command line to launch the new WAD
    directly , some accepts -WARP but others seems to work only with
    -EPISODE or -DEVPARM (all WAD writers do not explain the 'HOW TO DO'
    in the .TXT).

    Can someone help me to find a "WAD launcher" or a "WAD manager" to get
    rid of thoses commands lines ??

    There are several out there, the ones that I know of are; DoomMenu,
    Doom control centre, Doom front end and Wad Manager.

    DoomMenu  [DOOMENU7.ZIP]
    	Very much a Network setup utility, although it allows you to
    	select an external WAD and jump straight to the correct level.

    Doom Control Centre / Doom Front End [DCC12.ZIP / DFE210.ZIP]
    	These are both reasonable for looking after WADs, they do however
    	concentrate on providing support for configuring serial connections
    	and network games along with save game data.

    WAD Manager  [WM130C.ZIP]
    	This is by far the best I have come across for dealing with PWADs
    	It doesn't bother with any of the other configuration details just
    	with looking after your PWADs, it allows you to tag which ones your
    	going to use and also allows you to change the level that they
    	replace, the setup part takes a little time but it's great when
    	going.

    All of these are available on SHUVVA:DKB0:[DOOM.MISC]

    Enjoy,
      -John.
61.3WM114 Is a good Wad ManagerLYO02::CAMPSWed Jun 29 1994 06:399
    Thank you for your help .

    I tried WM114.ZIP found in SHUVVA:DKB0:[DOOM.MISC] . It is really a
    very good graphic utility wich 'drop' you in your PWAD (in the correct
    level) in a short and efficient way.

    Really a must.

    use the external wad command with no luck. Any suggestions?
