Can you re-link an ALL-IN-1 IOS V3 Co-existent system ? The customer has upgraded VMS since it was installed. We have tried re-linking by logging in as ALLIN1_1 running SETOA 1 but receive errors during the re-link; %LINK-W-MULTDEF, symbol * multiply defined in module disk:[allin1_1.sources_british]*.obj for various symbol values for *. Should this work ? I cannot find documentation to indicate either way. Thanks Aston

4341.1 | Should be OK.... | IOSG::PYE | Graham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's Apprentice | Tue Jul 12 1994 16:51 | 12 |
I don't see why not, since the installation manages to do a link, so if the "right things" are set up, then it should be OK. You might try defining the DCL symbol a1$prefix to be == "OA1" before linking. Alternatively, could the co-ex system be a small scarlet fish, and the link is failing for some other reason like DEC Notes V2.5 being installed? Are there any customisations to the link? Graham PS Of course I never intended that you should run a co-ex system for long enough to need a relink :-) | |||||

Thanks Graham The a1$defer did the trick. It also helps if after you re-link you copy all of the new images into their correct directories. Regards Aston |
