4312.1 | TLC V2.1 ships with 3.1 ? | UTRTSC::SCHOLLAERT | Office WEBmaster | Thu Jul 07 1994 16:54 | 11 |
| Hi,
Customer told me that digital (Dave H.) told him that 3.1
is shipping with TLC V2.1. If this is correct, is this kit equal
to HERO::TLCV21$KIT_PRE_SSB:*.* ?

4312.3 | customer needs TLC V2.1 kit for 3.0A | UTRTSC::SCHOLLAERT | Office WEBmaster | Fri Jul 08 1994 12:01 | 15 |
| Jill,
>ALL-IN-1 V3.1 includes the code for TLC V2.1 - it is not aspearate kit.
Correct. But TLC V2.1 is a seperate kit for 3.0A. Customer needs
this kit. Dave Holt told them the TLC V2.1 KIT is shipping to
contract customers together with 3.1.
Let me refrase the customers question: "when do I receive TLC V2.1 ?"

Jan

| Jan,
if your customer is on service contract they will receive ALL-IN-1 V3.1 and TLC
V2.1 in the same kit. ESSB ask the service organisations in each country which
customers should receive the kit and depending upon the response send out the
kits. If your customer has now chosen CONdist they won't get the combined AXP
and VAX kit until August on CDROM at the earliest.
They won't get TLC V2.1 before ALL-IN-1 V3.1 because they are together.

Dave Holt

4312.5 | Confused! | VNABRW::EHRLICH_K | Feeling like a CrashTestDummy! | Fri Jul 08 1994 16:32 | 10 |
| Hi Dave, Jan
this means that TL V2.1 Client could never run with ALL-IN-1 V3.0A
with TLC 2.0. We've to wait for ALL-IN-1 V3.1 (incl. TLC V2.1) for a
supported TL V2.1 Client configuration.
Am i correct or miss I something?
Best regards and have a nice weekend

can TLC V2.1 be put on the net ?

My understanding from various reading places was TL client 2.1 still
works with TLC 2.0, i,e, IOS 3.0A but will miss out on fixes /
performance enhancements made in TLC 2.1, e.g. NEWMAIL msg notif, IOS
3.1 mail attrib such as Important, Sensitivity etc., faster drawer
access when opening ....

Let's put things back on track...
TLC V2.1 is a separately installable product for ALL-IN-1 V3.0A.
TLC V2.1 is being shipped along with the ALL-IN-1 V3.1 kit.
The TLC V2.1 is incorporated in the base ALL-IN-1 V3.1.

| Arfon,
I still haven't got an answer to my original question.
>TLC V2.1 is being shipped along with the ALL-IN-1 V3.1 kit.
Is HERO::TLCV21$KIT_PRE_SSB:*.* equal to the shipping TLC V2.1 ?

4312.11 | HERO:: kits not suitable for customers? | IOSG::MARSHALL | A glitch in reality | Mon Jul 11 1994 15:24 | 9 |
| Whether or not HERO::... is the SSB kit, I don't think HERO:: locations are
"official" network kits for internal use. They are most definitely not kits
suitable for giving to customers. So the question appears to be irrelevant, as
the original note implies an external customer, so whatever is in HERO::... you
can't give it to them.
Official SSB media are, I thought, the only kits that can be given to customers?

| There's no "thinking" about it. Network kits must *NOT* be given to
customers. Anything on HERO is a development version, and is not
supported (unless previously agreed during field test.)

4312.13 | Network kit location for TLC V2.1 | IOSG::MARSHALL | A glitch in reality | Tue Jul 12 1994 11:40 | 6 |
| To reply to .10, the network kit for TLC V2.1 was announced today. It's in
IOSG::TLCV21$SSB_KIT:*.*
I advise reading the product announcement before using this kit.

| RE: .9
I want to make sure I understand things correctly: if I install ALL-IN-1 V3.1 I
am all set and can plug Teamlinks V2.1 clients straight in (since TLC V2.1 is
part of ALL-IN-1 V3.1).
For instance on an ALL-IN-1 V2.4 system the only thing I need to install to be
able to plug in Teamlinks V2.1 client is the ALL-IN-1 V3.1 kit.
Am I correct?

| bruno,
ALL-IN-1 V3.1 has everything you need, however you cannot upgrade directly
from v2.4 you must go via V3.0 first.
