| DECTEXT is an editor which was included in some German language kits. The
ALL-IN-1 base code contains some hooks for it.
I don't know if it will be included wuth V3.1, and have not heard anything
about it being ported to Alpha AXP.

| Once upon a time, and maybe still, it was the basis for the
auto-hyphenation code that, As Richard mentions, was/is used in
Germany.

| thanks graham and richard for the answers. i've removed DECTEXT from
the list of available editors for my customer, just so they won't try
to use it.

| DECTEXT has been retired years ago, but some peaces were left in the
product, because they were used by other applications in Germany (like
TELEX,TELETEX). As far as I know, the name DECTEXT should be scratched
out of ALL-IN-1 as soon as the currently shipping version is out (?)

DECTEXT as Editor has been retired years ago, but the DECTEXT DSAB
should stay to protect customers investments in ALL-IN-1
layered products like VAXTEL (Telex) and VAXTTX (Teletex).
If the DECTEXT DSAB would be removed VAXTTX won't work anymore.

4303.6 | Make it invisible? | IOSG::PYE | Graham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's Apprentice | Fri Jul 01 1994 18:41 | 6 |
| Fritz makes a good point, and even when I thought we only needed
DECtext for auto-hyphenation I was thinking we needed a way to have an
editor type in the OAET tables, but not selectable at US SWC. MAyeb we
need an extra flag, like the "invisible" flag in the command table?
