4298.1 | You could not be authenticated in the mail directory | CROCKE::YUEN | Banquo Yuen, Darwin Australia | Sat Jul 02 1994 10:18 | 8 |
| Hello
All the users are getting "You could not be authenticated in the
mail directory" when they enter either the EM or WP menu,
even though they have been using DDS for some time.
Thanks

4298.3 | Should be follow-up of 4298 | CROCKE::YUEN | Banquo Yuen, Darwin Australia | Tue Jul 05 1994 15:32 | 12 |
| This 4310.0 should be the follow-up of 4298. As I have said, I have
check all the DSSID and everything I mentioned in 4298.0
One of the obvious problem is useragent.mtanode1["OA$STUPID$ALLIN1"]
returns nothing.
And when I did some trace on subscriber_add and subscriber_change
do scripts, a lot of error saying "Function !AS not implemented in
this version". But the system was definitely working before.
Thanks

| I don't suppose you have done a relink and accidentally turned off DDS?
Try doing a relink after making sure that OA$DDS_PRIME is defined to 1
or 2. The "function not implemented" messages may be indicating this...

4298.5 | UAPASSWRD? | PROFET::TAURIAINEN | Hackaa plle! | Thu Jul 07 1994 14:18 | 7 |
| I think I've seen these "Function not implemented" -messages on a
machine that had multiple entries in UAPASSWRD (at least I think this
was the reason then). DDS was not populated with user info on that
machine so I re-created the UAPASSWRD.DAT and followed the instructions
of Mail Mgmt Guide in setting up the DDS connection.

4298.6 | still no good after relink | CROCKE::YUEN | Banquo Yuen, Darwin Australia | Sat Jul 09 1994 10:41 | 18 |
| Have already done a relink and copied oa$main.exe and restart all-in-1,
problem is still there.
And as mentioned in .0, I have deleted an created the UA and checked
the UAPASSWRD.DAT, but maybe I can try deleting the UAPASSWRD.DAT!?!
Maybe I will suggest the customer to install MUPA or disable the DDS,
I have been sugggesting the customer to disable DDS altogether
for a long time since DDS keeps on creating problem! And I always
think that network.dat is much more efficient and reliable and easy
to manage. The only problem was the customer use MRS very very
ocassionally and now they have started using internet mail on all
their machine, so MRS is on longer used. What do you think?
What else does DDS good at?
Thanks
