4265.0. "Undefined Symbols in PROFILE.DAT ?" by PETRUS::BEELE (Ingo Beele, LC Frankfurt) Thu Jun 16 1994 17:04

There are 3 fields/symbols for PROFILE.DAT for which there is no chance
to get them with <GET PROFIL.%%%%["MANAGER"]
Those symbols, defined in OAGBL.BLI are:
OA$GT_PROFIL_IMAGE_DISPLAY = $OA_SLIT( 'IMAGE$DISPLAY'),! User screen display
OA$GT_PROFIL_DTMA = $OA_SLIT( 'DTMA'),
OA$GT_PROFIL_VMI_PHONE_NUMBER = $OA_SLIT( 'VMI_PHONE_NUMBER'),
If I try to read those three I get an error message

Operatiing system is: ALLIN1 3.0/GERMAN

Ingo,

the old voice mail stuff hasn't worked since V2.2 so what are you
trying to do?

4265.2Record description of PROFILE.DAT FRAOST::BEELEIngo Beele, LC FrankfurtThu Jun 16 1994 18:149
I only try to find out what is really used in PROFILE.DAT and what
contents in the file belongs to which field, there is
a lot of empty space and Hidden Fields like CREATE$FAIL, NOT$IN$USE,
RESERVED, EXTRA1, EXTRA2 etc. which are not delared in OAGBL.BLI
and you can't view them with CTRL/V.
Is there anywhere a whole description of the 2192 byte long record of
PROFILE.DAT

Ingo Beele
4265.3Don't use those twoSHRMSG::HOWARDYes it isThu Jun 16 1994 19:2710
Aren't CREATE$FAIL and NOT$IN$USE used to mark an account that didn't
get created properly? If NOT$IN$USE is set to 1, then you can't use
the account. See the named data for the form SM$MUA, the UNLOCK
option. When you go to create an account and it tells you that you had
tried to create this account before, it is checing CREATE$FAIL.

Take a look at Tony Redmond's V3.0 book for a complete layout
(EY-M522E-DP).

4265.4Fixed in V3.1....IOSG::PYEGraham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's ApprenticeTue Jun 21 1994 16:436
In V3.1, we've added a load of customer reserved fields, with the
intention that people will never have to use "our" fields or customise
the profile again. We've also removed most of the special symbols you
mention in .0.
