4213.0. "access violation with a remote drawer" by VAXRIO::VALERIA () Tue May 31 1994 19:45

Hi,
I have a customer who is having a problem with ALL-IN-1 3.0A.
When he is trying to copy a document from a remote drawer to a local drawer
with the option FC MCD, this error message appears :
A SYSTEM ATTRIBUTE HAD AN ILLEGAL VALUE SUPPLIED

And when he tries to copy the folder (option MCF) this dump appears :

%SYSTEM-F-ACCVIO, access violation, reason mask=00, virtual address=00000008, PC
=0068F865, PSL=03C00000

Improperly handled condition, image exit forced.

    Valria,

You should check what Andrew and Graham suggest. Version 2.4 of
ALL-IN-1 was called "Portuguese" in your country, as it was a
replacement of the European-Portuguese variant. Since V3.0 we had to
give the language its own name "Brazilian" and the country code changed
    to BZ.

During an upgrade from V2.4/Portuguese to V3.0/Brazilian it is an
important step to change the language and country codes wherever they
are stored. My assumption is that the customer is trying to copy a
drawer between "incompatible" ALL-IN-1s. Reasons could be:

    - one system is updated to V3.0a correctly, which means everything
is "BZ" and "Brazilian" while the other system still has remaining
      "PT" or "Potuguese" entries.

Another issue: that the Brazilian version is still not a fully
supported language variant, because when the BIV was produced, it was
not decided which language variants will be produced. Thus, the name of
the "Brazilian" language does not appear in other variants.
So another cause of your customer's problem could be:

    - one system is a non-Brazilian (e.g. American-English) variant while
the other one is a system updated to Brazilian V3.0 and the
non-Brazilian system does not know this language name.

    no easy solution, I'm afraid...
    Stefan

> does it only happen under Brazilian can you reproduce it on an american
> english system - I ask because there's all those 'unknown language'

     	I can't reproduce the problem...

> Are both servers V3.0a?
> What type of document(s) is the customer trying to copy?
> Is it just some specific documents which fail or is it impossible
> to copy all documents?

	- both servers are with 3.0A
	- wpsplus documents
	- all documents of "MAIN" drawer has the problem. (I created a new
drawer and I copied the documents without problem)

> program SYS$SYSTEM:OAFC$SYSFOLD_SEED.EXE and see if your language is
> included (and correctly!)

	- I executed this program and no PT (portuguese) or EN (english)
	  language had been found

Another user has been the same problem...

Thanks for any idea,
Valria.

    Hi,

There's a definite error in the BZ table. The folder

    	"POSTMASTER MAIL NBS FROM MR"

has been changed to "PRINCIPAL". It should not have been changed. I
have no idea what the effect is though.

    Cheers
