4199.0. "Delete User problem when user has document reserved" by GIDDAY::BURT (Scythe my dandelions down, sport) Wed May 25 1994 07:46

Hello and greetings,

I can't recall having seen this reported elsewhere.

Customer running ALL-IN-1 V3.0 (vanilla)
Tried to delete user - procedure looped. Customer had STARS script changes in
place - no signed of file cabinet corruption - nice new mail waiting in INBOX.
Customer found ONE reserved document - when this was unreserved & deleted, the
delete user procedure went through correctly.

Any comments?

Thanks & regards,

Chele B

    Chele, g'day!
haven't got much time, but a quick scan through the fixes for a PFR
in Delete Account include the following: (I restricted my check to
looping problems). Maybe you can recognize one of these, or it will
    give you some clues:
    1. Endless loop at pending_loop in MUA_DEL_ACCOUNT.COM (caused by bad
username e.g. "KEVIN - with one quote).
    2. Loop in MUA_DEL_CAB.SCP caused by three things:
. Delete flags on some documents are not being set to Y (possibly
your reserved document - set trace to see)
. problem with the status return from CAB JANITOR function to see
whether it should exit a loop (CAB JANITOR function does not set
status bad if it does not delete all documents in the current
          folder).
. the System Wide Dictionaries in the users' file cabinets are set
up with their delete flags to N. Delete User changes their delete
flags to Y, and, since they are not marked as shared documents,
the CAB JANITOR function then tries to delete them and fails.
Hope some of this might help. Can't say much more without further
    details.

    Hi,

This is fixed in the PFR. What I'm not sure of is whether it got fixed
    in V3.0a.

    Cheers

The V3.0A Release notes state it was fixed in MUPA.

Hello and greetings peoples,

The customer is Mup-less and point 2 spot 1 seems to cover it - document was
reserved.

Thanks & regards,
