4194.0. "SMU with SO weirdness" by GIDDAY::BURT (Scythe my dandelions down, sport) Mon May 23 1994 07:03

Hello and greetings,

ALL-IN-1 V3.0 (Brititish-ish - vanilla)
Customer has reported a strangeness when using SMU (Set Mail User) &
SO (Set Owner in TM) to the same user, when an invitation to a meeting is
issued.

User A gets into user B's calendar
User A sends meeting requests on behalf of user B to 5 users
User A gets out of user B's calendar
User A does SMA to user B mail filecab
User A reads 5 meeting replies sent to user B account

There'll be 5 docs created in CREATED folder in addition to 5 docs in READ
folder. The documents in the CREATED folder have no addressee (there are no
addressees for this message) but are otherwise exactly the same (ie content)
as the reply messages.

Any ideas as to what is going on here?

Thanks & regards,

Chele B

This is not strangeness, it's an expected response caused by pilot
error. The user does not have the values of SMU and SO
synchronized and is paying the price. Your user is actually
experiencing 1 or 2 unreported problems, as well. Upgrading to
        v3.0A will help.

There are several articles in STARS describing restrictions if
        these values are not synchronized.
