A customer has installed MUPA and TLC, IVP's shows that everything went OK. It is possible to connect to the server, the user can read jis mail from Mac-client as well as Windows-client. When trying to SEND a message to a ALL-IN-1-user the TeamLinks-client and the AIDA-server hangs. The error-log says the following: username oartl_dsr_search_begin %oartl-w-ddsprc_msg, error from dds-initialization, the server lacks the quota to create a subprocess for dds inquiries The quotas are set according to default, still the user being addressed is a local ALL-IN-1-user, therefore DDS shouldn't be searched, should it? Any idea what's wrong? /Jonas

Jonas, Depending on how your systems are set up, then yes, DDS will be searched. The value of the quotas are set depending on what OA$DDS_PRIME is at the time. If you create a server when OA$DDS_PRIME = 0, and then change the logical to OA$DDS_PRIME = 1, then the quotas will be incorrect. Another possibility is if you have upgraded from previous versions/base levels of TLC. Originally we didn't calculate the quotas correctly, but this was fixed up before TLC V2.0 shipped. If you installed a pre-SSB kit ever, then these quotas will be preserved throughout any subsequent installation. I suggest you delete the AIDA server records and re-create them. This should recalculate the quotas and give you a more DDS-friendly server. Let me know how you get on... Kevin. Have you changed OA$DDS_PRIME sin
4155.2 | OA$DDS_PRIME is 1 | STKTRE::jnorrbom | Jonas Norrbom @SOO | Mon May 16 1994 16:07 | 12 |
The OA$DDS_PRIME is set to one. The installed kits are the newest, no upgrades of TLC. There is another development-machine at the site, here everything works fine... We've found nothing essential that differs, except that some quotas are higher on the machine where there are problems... Deleting the AIDA_SERVER and creating a new gives the same values... What to do next? I am going to compare the logs on the two machines. /Jonas

Jonas, You can up the quotas or lower them by editing the server config file at MAS when the server is stopped and set override defaults to Y. What quotas are you at - post them please. Regards, Andrew.D.wicks
