4146.0. "Pre-Check V2.4 to V3.0 Fails..." by UNYEM::KOROL () Mon May 09 1994 14:55

    I have just completed running the Pre-Check part of the ALL-IN-1 2.4 to
    3.0 installation.

    I have verified all Prerequisite and Optional Software Versions and all
    check out okay we have:

    VMS 5.5-2
    DECNET V5.5-2
    VAX FMS V2.4
    VAXNOTES V2.3
    MESSAGE ROUTER V3.2
    MESSAGE ROUTER VMSMAIL GATEWAY V3.1
    DATATRIEVE V6.0
    CDA V1.6-920519

    The other error is: The logical SMBSRVSHR is defined. This logical
    definition will cause the ALL-IN-1 installation to fail and must be
    deassigned.

    There is no SMBSRVSHR logical defined. We do have WordPerfect
    Integrated with ALL-IN-1 and that logical needs to be defined - once
    the integration of WPCORP has completed, the logical is deassigned.

    Here is what I get:

    JMK::SDVAX> sho log SMBSRVSHR
    %SHOW-S-NOTRAN, no translation for logical name SMBSRVSHR
    JMK::SDVAX>

    Any one have any suggestions? I looked at Note# 1138 and alot of the
    replies are missing so I couldn't see what resolved that persons
    problem.

    I expect that it's defined /EXEC, but you can do SHO LOG /FULL to find
    out. If so, then your SHO LOG output tells you that you need to do:

    	$ DEASS/EXEC/TABLE=LNM$GROUP_000001 SMBSRVSHR

    or it might be (while logged into the SYSTEM account, or one with a
    SYSTEM group UIC):

    	$ DEASS/EXEC/TABLE=LNM$GROUP SMBSRVSHR

    Why they choose to define this logical in the SYSTEM Group table has
    always been a mystery to me. Perhaps it's a symbiont rule...
