Hi, ALL-IN-1 v3.0a A customer is using the handling field when creating documents, but finds he can also reproduce the problem when entering the command <merge boilerplate, #tempfile then it is not using the default ruler for the user. I explained from an old article that I found that he should use a .wpl boilerplate which will then take the setting of the .wpl boilerplate. Customer said they do not want this as they want to use the ruler settings for that particular user. Is there any way the customer can do this?? Thanks, Julie

Julie, after you perform the MERGE, use the TEXT_FILE function to create an empty .WPL file, which will have the users default ruler in it. Then use the APPEND function to tag your empty (except for the ruler) file on to the end of the merged file. It's a bit messy, but it should allow you to insert the required ruler into the document.
