4142.0. "about MNODE flag & NETWORK.DAT file......." by MLNTSC::ZAGHI () Mon May 09 1994 10:10

 Hi,

 Can anyone tell me if the behaviours in points 4) & 5) are bugs ?

 1) My customer has ALL-IN-1 V3.0A ITALIAN

 2) He creates an ALL-IN-1 account A (by SM MUA CU) . Template utilized for
    account creation has flag MNODE = Y . In this way account A is added in
    the file NETWORK.DAT . ---->> THAT'S RIGHT

 3) He creates an ALL-IN-1 account B (by SM MUA CU) . Template utilized for
    account creation has flag MNODE = N . In this way account B is NOT added
    in the file NETWORK.DAT . ---->> THAT'S RIGHT

 4) He renames ALL-IN-1 account A in C (by SM MUA RNA) with MNODE=Y.
    Account C is added in the file NETWORK.DAT ---->> that's right
    Account A remain in the file NETWORK.DAT ------>> IS THAT RIGHT ??

 5) He edits account B modifiyng MNODE flag from N to Y (by SM MUA E).
    Account B is not added in the file NETWORK.DAT ---->> IS THAT RIGHT ???

        Many thanks in advance ,

                                 Paolo Zaghi.

Hi,

>> 4) ... Account A remain in the file NETWORK.DAT ------>> IS THAT RIGHT ?

Yes; account A should remain there, but with its DELETE flag set to Y. This is
so that other nodes running the UA housekeeping job to fetch account details
receive the information that account A is to be deleted. The account is not
removed from NETWORK until you run the DA housekeeping job.

If the DELETE flag is not being set to Y, then something is wrong.

>> 5) Account B is not added in the file NETWORK.DAT ---->> IS THAT RIGHT ?

I don't think local profile changes get added to NETWORK.DAT until you run the
UA housekeeping job. If you feel that it should be added as soon as you edit
the account, then please submit a "wish" for this change in functionality.

    Hi,

    (5) is a known problem that is fixed in V3.1 if the local language
    version of Y is not equal to the System Management or System
    Administration versions.

    In the case of (4) the network profile entry for account A should be
    updated with the DELETED flag set to "Y". It does not get deleted at
    this stage.

    Cheers
