4118.0. "Corporate Phone Directory glitch...." by BRUMMY::BIOTEK::LONERGAN ("Is this how to WIN though?") Thu Apr 28 1994 18:26

Noticed some odd behaviour using the Corporate Phone Directory. I
created a few dummy entries then decided to delete them afterwards. Lets call
them Bill, Ben and Weed. Delete works fine from the menu (Form Dircor) although
I would have expected the Context block to be refreshed with the next record so
having deleted Ben, I would have expected to see Bill automagically.

However when I delete from the index (Form Cor$Index), unless the record
I'm deleting is the one selected in the context block, the message "Privilege is
needed to delete a corporate phone entry" is displayed in the message buffer BUT
the record is actually removed.

I tried out the same on the Personal Phone Directory but this works ok.
It's obviously just a bit of code collapse on delete in Cor$index. Is this the
best place to notify so as to get it sorted or should I be contacting someone in
engineering?

Regards,

	Sean

Check the STARS article titled "DIR COR I D Displays No Error When
User Has Not Been Granted Privilege". Let us know if it's fixed
        in v3.0-1 or v3.0A.

4118.3One last check before I SPR it please...BRUMMY::BIOTEK::LONERGAN"Is this how to WIN though?"Wed May 04 1994 16:3917

	Andrew, Dave,

Thanks for your suggestions. I dont have a STARS account so
someone I know who has mailed me the article mentioned. It is a believe a
related but different problem. The problem I see occurs when I have CPHD set
on (Im using the ALL-IN-1 account) and is sort of the reverse of the STARS
article...that is it does delete as it should but it displays an error msg
which it shouldn't. Could it be that the "possible" fix in V3.0-1 or V3.0-A
will resolve both problems..if the fix is in. Have either of you got access to
V3.0-1/A to test out before I stick in an SPR or is there really a STARS article
about this prob. Thanks for your help so far.

Regards,

	Sean

The problem described in the STARS article has been fixed in
v3.0A. I nice warning message about not having the appropriate
        privilege is displayed.

After discussion with our local TSC (Basingstoke), I believe that the
problem I reported in the original note has been fixed in ALL-IN-1 V3.0-1.
Thanks to all for suggestions and help.
