4071.0. "HP laser jet III problem" by UPROAR::YATEST (I is IS) Tue Apr 12 1994 12:43

    Hi,

We have just upgraded our ALL-IN-1 system to V3.0 and UK core 4.1 and
we now have a small problem with printing to attached HP laserjet III.

    This is the situation:

The HP laserjet III is attached to a DECpc. A mail with an attachment
    is printed using:

    document destination:	PORT HPLJIII
    print style: PORT HPLJIII

After the first sheet the LCD display on the printer displays

    PF FEED A4

hitting the Continue/Reset button continues the print out. Is there a
    way to stop this ?

    Cheers,

    Tony

Hi Tony,

>> PF FEED A4

I don't know exactly, but I seem to remember this meens feed manualy A4 size
paper. The printer receives an escape code which instructs the printer to select
a papersize (tray) which isn't available at the time.

Does this only happen when you print from within ALL-IN-1 ?

What's the content of the Sheet feeder trays field on the Pagination Settings
menu ? If it differs from NOTRAY change it to NOTRAY and try again.

Hope this helps,

Martin

    Hi Martin,

    Thanks for the reply.

    This is only from ALL-IN-1.

The sheet feeder tray option = NOTRAY. I'll hace to check but it
doesn't happen with all mails that have attachments, could it be
    document related ?

    Cheers,

An attachment can have a different pagination setting than the mailmessage
itself. To check is this is true. Select an message which shows the print
problem, file the attachment and print the attachment.

Succes,
