A customer has a mixed cluster of 3 AXP nodes and 2 VAX nodes. ALL-IN-1 is running only on the VAX nodes (obviously) and MR is only running on one of these. Cluster aliasing is not being used. The customer wants to know if a user is logged into ALL-IN-1 node "A" and mail for him arrives via MR on node "B", will he get the new mail broadcast? I'm pretty sure he will but can someone confirm? What actually does the broadcast - is it the Fetcher? Thanks Andy Joyce CSC Sydney

andy, The full details of how broadcast works can be found in note 3108.3 of the _v24 version of this conference. How it works in a mixed archicture cluster I don't know - what does an ALPHA box look like we've still only got 8000 series stuff (:==:) regards, Andrew.D.Wicks | |||||

Andy, Beeps fine for me on the AXP of a mixed cluster. The fetcher just does a VMS broadcast. Regards, Jan |
