4043.0. "Modify DATA TYPE" by MSAM03::SOWWAN () Mon Apr 04 1994 11:41

    Hi,
I have a customer currently using ALL-IN-1 V2.4 and wishes to do
    the following :

SHOW HEADER gives the info of the created message with DATA TYPE as ASCII.
The customer wishes to change it to WPSPLUS.
    How to achieve this ?

What difference the DATA TYPE has on EM and WP ?

Does the DATA TYPE make any difference in data transmission to MR or MRX ?

    Any suggestions?

    Rgds,
    SOWWAN

    Sowwan,

the data-type is ASCII because the user's editor is EDT. if the
customer wants to use WPS-PLUS they should set their editor type
    to WPS-PLUS on US SWC.

MR and MRX can handle WPS-PLUS, ASCII and many other formats.

    regards,

    Hi Andrew,
My customer is using Reflection DIRECT-TO-1 by Walker Richer &
Quinn, to create the message and the Data Type is ASCII even though the
user's editor is set to WPSPLUS. Now, we wish to change the message
Data Type to WPSPLUS from ASCII. Could it be achieved ?
    	Thanks for your prompt reply!
    Regards,
    Sow Wan

I don't think you can change the data type of a document, but you can copy it
to a new WPSPLUS document by calling Convert Document (File Cabinet menu).
