4013.0. "Anybody running ALL-IN-1 V2.1 on VMS V5.5-2?" by COPCLU::COPLE4::GLARGAARD (Allan Glargaard, DS @DMO) Tue Mar 22 1994 10:00

  Hi!

A customer of ours is running ALL-IN-1 V2.1 (really!) and Message
  Router V3.1B on a 6310 running VMS V5.4-2

This customer now asks if they would get problems if they upgraded
  to OpenVMS V5.5-2

Do you know of *any* customer still running V2.1, and if so, if they
run it on any recent version of VMS?

They use ALL-IN-1 mainly as a menu system for dial-in users, so not
many of the screens are un-customized - thus the reluctance to
  upgrade in the past.

We're not talking of any kind of supported vesrions here, just
asking if anyone else was in the same situation :-)

  Best regards,
  Allan

    Allan,

you're obviously not going to get any sort of 'well i tried it and it
worked response' so you have to tell the customer that they're on their
own. it would be difficult to guess what type of problems they might
encounter in 5.5 though anything to do with the Queue Manager would be
    a good guess.

I saw a customer in S.F running 2.1 on 5.4 only recently and there's also
a site out in Denver doing the same but that's where you're at too.

I would certainly be nervous if the customer talked about going to v6.0
given that 2.1 was developed in the happy old days of VMS v4.*
    (4.1 or 4.2 I think)

    Regards,
