Hi, I have a question on ALL-IN-1 IOS with TeamLinks. When a A1 IOS (french v3.0) sends a message to a TeamLinks (french v1.1) user and request a read confirmation. That confirmation, to the A1 IOS comes back in English. I did check the logicial names and it seems to be alright but on the other hand I would appreciate the expertise of someone else. The next note will include an output of the logical. Michel

michel, since you say the recipient is a TL v1.1 user then they can't be using ALL-IN-1 as their mail server. I'd check what they're really using and then ask in the TeamLinks conference regards, Andrew.D.Wicks

If the TeamLinks V1.1 user is using DEC MAILworks as their mail server, then an encoded receipt notification will be generated by DEC MAILworks. ALL-IN-1 V3.0 doesn't understand encoded receipt notifications, so Message Router converts them to text messages before giving them to ALL-IN-1. Unfortunately, Message Router doesn't understand French, so it always creates the receipt notification message in English. Hence the user gets an English receipt notification, even though both users might be using French systems. Note a similar problem (but for a different reason) occurs if a French ALL-IN-1 system requests a receipt notification from, say, a German ALL-IN-1 system; the French user would get back a German notification. ALL-IN-1 V3.1 (currently in EFT) does understand encoded receipt notifications, and it performs the conversion to a text message. This convesion will occur in the language of the receiving system, ie French, regardless of the type or language of the system that generated the encoded notification. (Note however that the French/German problem above will still occur with a receipt notification sent from a V3.0 system to a V3.1 system). I hope that explains it. Scott

Scott, Thank you for your answer. You confirm what I already told the customer. In any case, since ALL-IN-1 IOS will be retiring (at that customer site) after the full implementation of TeamLinks the problem will go away by itself. Michel |
