4005.0. "How to get rid of a MICA form that doesn't really exist!" by TIMMII::RDAVIES (An expert Amateur) Mon Mar 21 1994 16:05

It's a long long time since I 'played' with the guts of ALL-IN-1, so I
hope the response to this isn't too obvious!.

In the eons of distant time we had MICA installed on our system. Most
of it was removed when we installed V3, however there is the odd legacy
left around that I would like to clear up.

The reason for this is that our housekeeping routines regularly fail,
trying to optimise the dat files in the mica locations which don't
    actually exist.

My big problem is that when I look at the application areas I see the
    MICA areas are there:
    1 ENGLISH
    2 MICA_ENGLISH
    3 MICA_SHARE
    4 SHARE
If I try to dElete the area it comes up with:
Site elements exist - cannot delete area

I can only see ONE form that's supposedly live from this area:

                        Index of Site Elements
No. Name Type Area Status Live
    > 1 US FRM MICA_ENGLISH Free Y

However.... The AREA physically doesn't exist, let alone the form
library let alone the form!. If I try to remove this form or delete it
I get a failure (basically cos it can't get to the FLB). and therefore
when I try to remove the area it say's it can't as there's still a form
    open...... A catch 22!

What I'd like to do is remove the pointer to the form so I can then
delete the mica area's. Any one able to help me?

I was hoping to find DSAB's pointing to the Site element, and, if I
still can't emove the area because it doesn't physically exist, one
pointing to the Area as well.

But for now, if someone could tell me how to remove a file from the
site elements list without it performing the "does it really exist"
    test I'd be gratefull.

    richard,

do it the dirty way just delete the records from the datasets.
go tot CM and call up the following forms and delete anything MICA
related - I think this order is right!
    1) cm$form$libs - if MICA had its own formlibs
    2) cm$auth$locations - for the MICA areas
    3) cm$auth$users - "
    4) cm$maf - delete MICA_ENGLISH and MICA_SHARE
    5) cm$app - delete MICA
    6) check in CM$SDC for any MICA elements and blow them away too!

    Try it and see!

    Regards,
