3862.0. "Symbols changes and forms ?" by VAXRIO::ABREU () Tue Feb 08 1994 20:00

    Hi,

I have a customer who would like to change the OA$_MO_FORWARD. Well,
I edited the SITE$OA and created a new MO_FORWARD with the value he
wanted to use. Now, when he executes the <GET OA$_MO_FORWARD , the new
value appears but from the EMC form , if I choose the new value,
it doesn't work ,only the old value works. I don't know very much
about customization and I thought if I changed the symbol, all forms
that use it, would work automatically with the new value .

How can I make this work ?

    Thanks .. Marcia

    Hi,

I looked for the definition of forward on form EMC and it wasn't there.
Strangely it is on form EMC1. If you thought that was strange, it only
gets more bizarre. On form EMC1 there are two definitions for forward -

    OA$_MO_FORWARD_3 which is "FO"
    OA$_MO_FORWARD_4 which is "F"

It turns out you need to change OA$_MO_FORWARD_4 as well as
OA$_MO_FORWARD (which is used on the index forms).

Questions that are best left unanswered are:

    1. What is the difference between OA$_MO_FORWARD_4 & OA$_MO_FORWARD,
apart from one works on the menu and one on the index.

    2. What happened to OA$_MO_FORWARD_1 & OA$_MO_FORWARD_2 !?

    Cheers

    Stuart
