3861.0. "MLA cannot select Live Location" by NWGEDU::MACKNEY () Tue Feb 08 1994 16:41

    I have installed two ALL-IN-1 V3.0-1 systems. One ( a DUTCH language
    system) has a problem with CM, the other (Multilanguage DUTCH/ENGLISH)
    does not. This is the problem:

     - I create a new element (from the Managers account),
     - I specify MLA
     - ALL-IN-1 prompts CHECKING LOCK STATUS ...
     - the Select Live Location form appears, but I cannot select any
       locations i.e. pressing find returns 'No item satisfied the search
       criteria' The element does not change to Move Pending.

    On the multilanguage system, when I press find I get a list of
    locations to choose from e.g

         1  OA$SITE_LIB_ENGLISH:SITEADMIN.FLB
         2  OA$SITE_LIB_ENGLISH:SITECM$MANAGER.FLB
                       .................
         9  OA$SITE_LIB_ENGLISH:SITEUQM.FLB

    I have gone to AM to check that the areas are open, which they are.
    However there are only two areas DUTCH and SHARE. On the multilanguage
    system, there are approx. 30 or so areas.

    Has anyone any idea how to diagnose my problem.

3861.1gotta match up types area areaIOSG::BILSBOROUGHSWBFSTue Feb 08 1994 23:316

    What is the TYPE and AREA of the element. It sounds like you do not have a
    live location set for that element type for that area.

3861.2thanks the callUTRTSC::DIENAARI have nothing seen yet !!Wed Feb 09 1994 07:4714
                    Hello John,

    Thanks for logging a call by your (friendly) local csc.

    But I have a question: why logging a call and ask the same question in
    this notesfile ??????

    After looking at your system, we saw that you tried to move a frm to a
    shared area instead of the dutch area. All forms are language
    depended and there are no flb's in the shared area of ALL-IN-1.

    Piet

    BTW Your call is now closed.
3861.3No FRM type in SHARENWGEDU::MACKNEYThu Feb 10 1994 11:007
    You are right. I didn't notice, but the user was trying to create a new
    form on the AREA SHARE. (There is no location for the element type FRM
    in SHARE!).

    Changed Area to DUTCH and it worked.
