3844.0. "Cannot Schedule ADS In V3.0 If Archiving Is NOT Enforced" by KERNEL::SIMPSONR (fred) Wed Feb 02 1994 17:36

I checked the Release Notes for V3.0-1 and could see no mention of ADS. Is it
a problem (see below) that will be resolved in another release,

Regards,
Richard Simpson

Cannot Schedule ADS In V3.0 If Archiving Is NOT Enforced

PROBLEM:

When scheduling ADS archiving housekeeping procedure, if you enter
a "N" as the response to the question "Enforce Archiving?" question
at the bottom of the scheduling form, you are immediately returned
to the MHP Index and the procedure is NOT submitted to batch.
There is no message displayed indicating whether or not the procedure
is being scheduled or any indication that there is an error.

In the meantime you can get round it by specifying Y to Enforced
Archiving but including ONLY a folder with a name like
"HSU&WH&AS&SUYS*S*IS(Y&*S" - if users have actually GOT a folder called
this they DESERVE to get all their documents archived by accident!
