3830.0. "Script symbiont queue failing intermittently" by KERNEL::OTHENJ () Fri Jan 28 1994 16:05

Hi,

Customer has written a program which submits a job to a batch queue on
another node from ALL-IN-1. This job monitors a directory and when
something is deposited it builds a script file and submits it to the
script symbiont queue oa$script_british.

This job works fine most of the time, but occasionally fails with the error
number 011f9340. The ALL-IN-1 scripts are creating wps-plus files and
inserting text into them. When these jobs are retained on error, they may
work the second time around. Customer can run these scripts interactively o.k.

I asked the customer to set up the oa$smb.com and add /sep=res=oa$smb on
the queue to create a log file, but no further information is given when
this failure occurs from within ALL-IN-1.

The customer also tried looking at the job through JS, and received the
message

Incorrect syntax in script command !as

but this does not tell him enough to resolve the problem.

Can anyone tell me what 011f9340 translates to (hopefully a bit more than
above), and any other way of tracking down what is causing this problem.

	Thanks,

			Julie

    Julie,

    011F9340 translates exactly to
%OA-W-SCPSYNTAX, Incorrect syntax in SCRIPT command:!/!AS!/!AS
you can find out how to do this from the following STARS article

What does the script look like?
