3827.0. "TM and SD cause ALL-IN-1 to hang" by KERNEL::VANRIXTELE (Emma van Rixtel) Fri Jan 28 1994 12:01
I have a customer using ALL-IN-1 v3.0-1 and VMS v5.5-1 who has a user
who is having trouble with time management.
He has a user who is in TM EV then (SO) sets owner to one of two
manager's accounts, and then goes to (SD) set date to 3/5 months in
advance to create some appointments. She will go to create about 15/20
appointments in total. Sometime she may come to a day which already has
some events scheduled, so will use Gold Arrow key to go to the next day
to see if it free to schedule the event for then. Suddenly the screen
will appear to hang, and the appointments already made for that day
disappear and she sees the error "you have no access to manager's
calendar".
She will use Gold Arrow key again to try and clear it, but then the
whole screen will go blank, with just the user's name at the top left
hand corner of the screen. When this happens, she presses the ADVANCE
key to get her back to her own TM screen. From past experience she has
noticed that after this, her TM options start to play up a bit, so she
now always logs out and back in again, and that seems to clear it. The
managers appointments are always there when she goes to check, but the
customer is concerned that maybe they are lacking some quotas or
something.
I have looked through notes and can not find anything similar to this
case, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Emma.

3827.1 | SMU also? | AIMTEC::WICKS_A | Atlanta's Most (In)famous Welshman | Mon Jan 31 1994 16:20 | 9 |
| Emma,
Until the DPC sees this note .... can you check that the user is also
doing SMU (set mail user) to the other calendar because if you don't
do both so many strange things happen.

| I've never see anything even remotely like this. It sounds almost
as if a disk went offline.

| Turn trace on and post a pointer to the A1TRACE.LOG file. Have
the user enter ALL-IN-1, then immediately turn trace one before
completing any other keystrokes.
