3801.0. "ICF's and MUPA?" by UPROAR::PLATTP (I is IS) Mon Jan 24 1994 13:34

    Hi Folks,

I'm about to do an upgrade on a system here at IME from V2.4 to
V3.latest (yes this place is still running V2.4 - and its unpatched!)

This system is going to become a 'standard UK IS' system and as
such needs ICF's 2030, 6030 and 9030 but I am planing on going to MUPA.
My question is, are these ICF's included in MUPA and if not is it best
to install them before of after MUPA? I've scaned throug hte release
notes but I didn't see any mention of ICF's.

Also, I have the V2.4 Teamlinks connection package on this system -
should I remove if before upgrading? If so, how so.

    Thanks,

    Pete P. - Rather rusty ALL-IN-1'er

    Pete,

MUPA contains ICFs 1-16 with the exception of 7,12,15 (WPS ICFs).

    Pete,

the bit about ICfs is in the release notes on page 1-3!!! as for the
TCP thing just go ahead and do a standard upgrade but they are a few
things you might want to tidy up afterwards since the standard v3.0
upgrade doesn't purge them such as TCP$UNLOCK.EXE, TCP$IVP.COM,
TCP$FILES.DAT (see appendix C in the tCP book) - watch out for
duplicate elements in the TXL after the upgrade though.

    Regards,
