3786.0. "PRINTER TABLE KEYWORD" by KERNEL::VANRIXTELE (Emma van Rixtel) Thu Jan 20 1994 12:17
This is a problem which I first highlighted in note 3773, but have
decided to enter it separately as it is slightly different to the tray
problem.
A customer has set up a keyword to define some sort of font, and has
noticed that when this control block appears at the top of the document
before any text it is ignored. By placing some printable text directly
before it, it seems to work!
This does seem a bit strange that no one has noticed this before, so I
thought that I would enter it again.
They are using ALL-IN-1 V3.0-1 and I can reproduce the problem every
time. He has noticed that this is happening on any DEClaser or
HPlaserjet printer. I have reproduced it on a DEClaser without any
trouble.
The keyword I used in this test is as follows:-
TEST_FONT <ESC>P1;10}RELITE0L02SK00GG<ESC>\<ESC>[10m<ESC>[?27l<ESC>[22;23m
And the control block used reads PRINTER TABLE TEST_FONT.
Could someone please test this for me and let me know if it is a bug,
or am I doing something wrong. I read somewhere that keywords used for
fonts will not always work and shouldn't be used, but it does seem
strange that having a printable character before the control block
means that it will work. (?)
thanks again,
Emma.
