| Er, how carefully have you been moving discs and users around??!!
Are you certain that you have updated PROFILE, SYSUAF, PARTITION etc.,
for the users correctly?
Could the users PST's have had some disc names in them? I don't think
so, but it was worth a guess!

| >> Er, how carefully have you been moving discs and users around??!!
pretty carefully : with the MDK option
PROFILE,SYSUAF are updated, but PARTITION, ah well, it is only OK for MAIN,
(well spotted) how does one change that as OAFC$PART_SEED only works for
the MAIN drawer ? however the current disk value is a logical (USE4) which
is defined to the correct disk - so in fact shouldn't caused the problem.
(?)
Found out though that when a different printer is offered, the value found
in .PST for LAST_PTR_DEST is the original one, so where the heck does this
new one come from ??? (you wouldn't believe some of the destinations
offered.. :-))
feeling rather frustrated,
Have a good weekend

Insulted ? Gosh no, relieved that you even answered !

| Stuart will probably correct me when he's next in here, but:
<WRITE CHANGE PARTITION UNIQUE_NAME='[user]drawer',DIRECTORY='....'
Should do it...

| Thanks for the tip, but the serious question and more serious problem is
that more of our users are complaining of a different printer destination
proposed than the one saved in the PST file. The similarity is that
they're all (but one) on the same disk and they all have several drawers.
Is there any process quota which could be increased or tracing which could
be enabled ???
Tks,
Hilary

3785.5 | Trace symbols? Other SWAGs.... | IOSG::PYE | Graham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's Apprentice | Tue Jan 25 1994 17:58 | 11 |
| If this is V3.0, you could turn on symbol tracing and filter the exact
symbol name to see when (if?) it's geting updated. On earlier versions,
you'll have to have all of symbol processing and purge the logs
frequently!
Is there some sort of customisation to the printing scripts? Could
their PSTs be set to the wrong protection? Or somewhere higher up the
directory tree or disc? Can you create, change and read other "$"
symbols?
