| Hi Dwp,
Firstly you aren't going to get much help or assistance on "All in One"
or "all-in-One" these are not our products. However if you are talking
about ALL-IN-1 than see notes 3620,2684, 1935 and 1504 these maybe of
some help to you.
Regards,
Sunil

3761.2 | Both his question and replying are easy! | IOSG::PYE | Graham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's Apprentice | Mon Jan 17 1994 09:12 | 21 |
| I've successfully mailed people on the internet from ALL-IN-1 with this
sort of address:
Charles D. Phillips ( "[email protected]"@DECWRL@MRGATE )
Of course if you're using VMSMail, you'll need to go somewhere else for
advice :-)
It shouldn't be hard for your questioner to do what he wants, but we'd
need to know which editor he is using. In any case, a simple UDP could
be written to get the "<" down the left hand side.
If you extract any notes from the conference, I'd be grateful if you
could remove all the headers before sending them outside the company.
As Sunil says, please take care to spell ALL-IN-1 correctly since it is
registered trademark which makes the corporation a lot of money. Please
remind your correspondent about the spelling too. I've fixed the
spelling in your base note.

3761.3 | Get some training! | SAHQ::SMALLEY | | Wed Jan 26 1994 21:57 | 17 |
| Hi,
Also, those of you who "run into" customers who need some help with ALL-IN-1
should advise them to take a class in the management of ALL-IN-1. DLS offers
an excellent class to customers at several locations on a fairly regular basis.
We can also go to their location if there are several people who need the
training at the same time.
The customer should not be encouraged to just "hack" his/her way through
ALL-IN-1 under the guise of managing it. If the customers were more
knowledgeable, the support people could spend their time helping with the
real problems.
Just a thought.

Right with you there, Linda!
I regularly have to deal with an ALL-IN-1 System Manager who, only
recently, asked me "How do I exit WPS-PLUS without saving the
changes?".
Still, the system he runs only has 2500 users... how difficult can it
be? 8)
Andy
P.S. Maybe we should have a new topic for ALL-IN-1 Horror Stories.
Should lighten the mood a little...

| Hi Linda,
>If the customers were more knowledgeable, the support people could spend
>their time helping with the real problems.
That would be boring !!!! I like having a bit of a laugh.
I had a customer who didn't know the difference between an index file
and sequential file, didn't know how to set default and finally managed
to reinitialize all his disks !!!!

Sunil

3761.6 | Use GOLD-K | AIMTEC::WARRENS_R | I am successful IFF you are successful! | Fri Jan 28 1994 15:00 | 9 |
| Hey Linda,
and I always liked the one about one of OUR sales reps who when talking
with one of his customers about ALL-IN-1 performance, said:
" Oh what you have to do to speed up the VAX is when you exit your
document, just press GOLD-K! It's quicker."
