Hello, Customer reports that IVP is listed as user of shared drawers instead of MANAGER. They have the same VMSUSR . On all our systems, MANAGER is displayed. I don't understand how the ACL$ DSAB works. When I replace the VMSUSR field of an existing ALL-IN-1 user with the one of a user listed later in PROFIL, ACL$ does not pick it up untill I temporary change the VMSUSR field of the last user to something completely different. Can someone shed a light on this ? Thanks, Jan

Hi, ACL$ is just an ALL-IN-1 interface to the ACLs which are held in the file header blocks. Since what is stored there is the VMS user name, ACL$ has a go at converting this back to an ALL-IN-1 name, and uses the first one it finds. It is using the VMSUSR key-of-reference to PROFIL. I think you should be able to fiddle it to get the one you want by renaming the IVP account to XYZ and then renaming it back. Or (quicker and dirtier and be careful) achieve the same at the API level by WRITE COPY PROFIL and WRITE DELETE PROFIL functions! Cheers Stuart | |||||

Stuart, Editing the VMSUSR field of IVP twice also does the trick. Thanks, Jan |
