3656.0. "Access violation on creating mail" by KERNEL::OTHENJ () Mon Dec 13 1993 11:00

Hello,

ALL-IN-1 V3.0

A customer has the following problem with creating mail messages (has also
seen the problem when creating distribution lists).

When creating mail messages and filling in a distribution list at the To:
field, the customer received the error

oa-f-vmgetfatal, lib$get vm failure

and was logged out of ALL-IN-1. They have also received this error when
entering local usernames at the CC: field, and also the error

operating system interface error

is displayed sometimes before the lib$ error.Customer has oa$dds_prime=2.
Explained that this error could be due to problems with mr, but the
customer has found that if they get this error, they have to log out of
ALL-IN-1 a few times before it works.

The customer has checked show proc/accounting when this has happened on
one occasion, and found that the virtual page size was > pgflquo, so he
upped the value to 30,000, asked the user to log out and in again, and see
if this corrected the problem. The user has since had the error again, and
this time virtual page size was less than pgflquo.

The customer turned on set watch file and called ALL-IN-1 again, and thinks
that the file network.dat was opened prior to the access violation, but
cannot guarantee this as the user was describing what she could see over
the phone.

Has anyone seen this problem before?

	Thanks,
			Julie

    Julie,

This sounds like the problem fixed in ICF #014 / MUPA
