Hi,
We have a customer here that we have done an upgrade from version
2.3 to 3.0. Before this upgrade , the pagefile had less than 50% of
usage. After the upgrade, the usage increased to 90% and a lot of
messages appeared in the console to advise the customer of problems
with the pagefile... Message 'pagefrag and pagecrit'. What we did was
to increase the pagefile size and everything seems to be ok . But the
customer wants to know why this happened.
This customer has 4 machines. Two had this problem . And both had the
problem the day after the upgrade.
Any ideas ?

V3.0 does use more memory - and does require more pagefile space.
Memory usage for an equivalent workload is reckoned to be up 8%. If the
customer is making use of the new features then memory will rise
further. Probably the biggest impact is in the use of drawers
especially when the File Cabinet Server is involved.
If the customer is worried then he could restrict drawer creation but
he just appears curious.
