3617.0. "Blank folders in IOS cabinet..." by FAILTE::MUCKRT::LAAHS (Continuing the Celtic Connection) Thu Dec 02 1993 11:02

I've been aware of a slight problem with TeamLinks/IOS and new IOS mail for
quite a while now. Only now have I understood what is actually happening and
I can reproduce it. I suspect the problme lies in the File Cabinet Server so
I'll cross-post this note in the TeamLinks and ALL-IN-1 conference.

The symptom of the problem is for new IOS mail messages to end up in a blank
folder in the IOS cabinet.

This happens if any new IOS mail pointers are in PENDING.DAT and you access
your IOS cabinet from TeamLinks. The entries from PENDING.DAT are moved into
DOCDB.DAT with a blank folder instead of into the 'INBOX'.

This typically happens mostly with SUBSCRIBER messages since, even though an
IOS account has its mail autoforwarded, entries are still posted into the
PENDING file for the user.

Is this a known problem? Does the MUPA fix it?

Thanks,
Kevin

This sounds like a widely known and explained FCS bug about not being
able to find the INBOX. It is fixed in MUPa.
