    After a Global Edit of several users' profiles - including Manager's -
    Manager is no longer able to access CM.

    When trying to access CM, AM or CSZ on this customer system, this
    message appears:

    "Your profile is being edited - See your ALL-IN-1 Manager"

    The PRVAPP flag had been changed, but I have set it back to M by doing
    <WRITE CHANGE PROFIL USER="MANAGER", PRVAPP="M"
    The OA$MANAPP identifier and the other ALL-IN-1 identifiers have been
    there all the time.

    I have tried to UNLOCK the Manager account, but that does not change
    the situation.

    I have tried to edit Manager's profile. Every time I do it, I get a
    mail, that one account could not be edited: MANAGER, because of missing
    information.
    But my changes are still there if I enter the profile afterwards.

    Is there a "being_edited" flag in the profile which I could clear?

    Here are the privs as they look if I do
    $ SEARCH OA$DATA:PROFILE.DAT MANAGER

    NYYYYYYYYNYYY3YYMDANISH_LK201

    On my own system where I don't have the problem, it looks like this:

    YYYYYYYYYNYYN3 YSDANISH_LK201

    PS. If strange characters have come into this document, it is because I
    am using a modem, and there is much noise on the line.

| 3569.1 | CM tests this for failed granting of privs, i think | IOSG::TYLDESLEY | Tue Nov 23 1993 17:00 | 7 | |
| Seems like the granting of application manager privs to the manager
    has failed somewhere along the line.
    From the Manager account try:
    <write change profil user=OA$USER, create$fail= 0
    This should then allow you to enter CM OK.
    Cheers

| 3569.2 | thanks | COPCLU::ELIN | Elin Christensen @DMO, DTN 857-2406 | Tue Nov 30 1993 15:37 | 10 |
|     Thanks Dave,  it worked.

    Afterwards I had to enter form CM$AUTH$USERS and add access for Manager
    to a single area before I could grant access to the rest of the areas
    by doing AM MAP Manage Authorized Programmers

    This (among other things) is described in a STARS article:
    "After V3.0 Install PRVAPP Removed From Manager; No Users Authorized"

| 3569.3 | But there is more... | UTES09::EIJS | All in 1 Piece | Mon Jan 10 1994 16:38 | 16 |
|
    Hi Dave, Elin,

    However, the STARS article doesn't describe the possible problem when
    using N, P or A in the PRVAPP field (with Global Edit). If a value is
    entered, the procedure sm_ge_write_sm.scp replaces the value without a
    blink. It should, however, call procedure CM_SM_EDIT_USER.SCP, after
    chaning the value. (Ofcourse a number of symbols should be set up first
    before calling the procedure.) This procedure then adds/removes the
    necessary identifiers.

    I don't think this has been reported yet?

    Ciao,

    	Simon
