3549.0. "ALL-IN-1 DAF problem, please help" by HGOVC::DEREKLUI () Thu Nov 18 1993 14:25

Hi,

	Our customer discover a problem in the housekeeping log file. The
SDAF file (260000 blocks) has 14 errors and couldn't be converted. I read
some previous conference and find someone has a tool which can rebuild the
DAF file. I wonder if anyone can send me the tool and show me how to use
it. The SDAF file is still being used. ALL-IN-1 is V2.3 and running on
VMS V5.5-2. ALL-IN-1 will be upgrade to V2.4 soon. Will the error affect
the upgrade ? The customer doesn't want to restore the backup, as it is a
week old.

Thanks,
Derek.

    Derek,

    Firstly please spell ALL-IN-1 correctly I have corrected the title of
    you note but don't have privs to correct the text.

    I believe you are asking about either CABFIX or RECOVER which are
    only available to nominated CSC personnel (this restriction was applied
    by Engineering).

    I don't know how you go about getting CABFIX certified but maybe if
    you contact IOSG support they will be able to help you.

3549.2Could I use CABFIX021 on V2.3 and/or V2.4 ?HTSC19::SIMONLAUFri Nov 19 1993 02:587
    I got the CABFIX021 save set, and I wonder if it could be used on
    ALL-IN-1 v2.3 as well as v2.4 ?? Did the DAF file structure changed
    ( v2.3 vs v2.4 ) ??

    Thanks and regards
    Simon
