3548.0. "TLC installation loops" by ZPOVC::WENDYLAI (YSL) Thu Nov 18 1993 10:43

    Hi,

    I am trying to install the TLC (TeamLinks Connection Package)
    BL32 but the installation ran into infinite loop when trying to start the
    local AIDA server Process in the post installation procedure.
    It was OA$MAIN which used up 100% CPU with almost no I/O.

    After aborting the installation, I went to ALLIN1 MGT to look at the
    queues. I can see all the print and server queues/jobs, but when I did
    index of batch queues or batch jobs, the system went to infinite loop
    again. By monitoring the process, it seems they loop at the same
    point. I can do SHOW ENT or SHOW QUE at DCL without any problem.
    There is no housekeeping job running and the queues are idle.

    My system config is :
    VMS 5.5-2
    ALL-IN-1 V3.0a (with MUPA BL52 (EFT2) installed successfully)
    TeamRoute for ALL-IN-1

    What can I check now ? If I have to re-do the installation, do I need
    to de-install TLC and MUPA EFT2 ?

    Hope someone can shed light on it.

    Thanks
    - Wendy.

3548.1Derek thinks this....IOSG::HALLCDenser than a Black Hole SingularityThu Nov 18 1993 13:3612
Hi Wendy,

this is what Derek thinks...

"This sounds like a problem you get when queues are referenced by logical
names which have the same name as the queues. The problem is a never-ending
iterative logical name translation loop."

Does that help?

Cheers,
	Chris.
