Hello, Customer wonders if it is possible to use the X400 mail address when creating a nickname. Just like on EMHEAD. Has someone done this before ? Regards, Jan

Hi, The special username X400 only invokes the X.400 form on EMHEAD because the address is being validated. Becuse no address validation is performed when entering nicknames, there is no way to get the X.400 form. In V3.0 there is the CNS (Create Nickname from Sender) option, so you can easily create a nickname if you get the X.400 addressee to send something to you :-) Other than that, you'd have to customise the nickname system to call X400.CMU; this should be pretty trivial. Or the user could create an X.400 address on EMHEAD, write down what it looks like, then manually type that in to the nickanme... :-) Scott | |||||

Hello Scott, Some borrowed code from CNS combined with x400.cmu did the trick. Is there a reason not to validate when entering nicknames ? Thanks, Jan |
