Hello, My customer has many sites and he would like to have a system distribution list which contains all users from all nodes which he can access. His system has ALL-IN-1 version 3.0 and Message Router version 3.2 and Message Router VMS-Mail Gateway version 3.2. Any idea ? Thanks a lot in advance Orapin

Hi, There's no easy automatic way to do this. The simplest would be to make a DL that looks like: SUBSCRIBERS: SUBSCRIBERS: @ A1 @ NODE1 SUBSCRIBERS: @ A1 @ NODE2 ...etc, adding a line for every node/cluster you want included. A bit more complicated: If you use NETWORK.DAT and the UA housekeeping job to synchronise remote mail addresses for the whole network, then the local NETWORK.DAT file should contain every user you can send mail to on the (DECnet) network. It would be straightforward to write a script to pull all these addresses out and make them into a DL. More complicated still: Modify UA to update your DL dynamically every time it fetches new addresses from other nodes. :-) Scott |
