3513.0. "gold k when creating within editor does not quit" by TOPPER::BARHAM (Norbert:) Tue Nov 09 1993 16:04
ALL-IN-1 3.0-1
Under certain circumstances, GOLD-K will pretend to Quit a document but
continue to file the document in your file cabinet. This only happens
when creating a document from within a document and the Handling field is
filled in as follows :-
wp e - edit an existing document
{gold} Sent(KP7) "Create Document" - from within document
Enter new document folder/title and Next Screen. Enter a handling such as
MEMO in the handling field.
Enter MEMO details
You now enter the new document
{gold} K to quit
Gives message :
Do you really want to end without saving your changes (Y/N)?
Confirm Y to this and you will find that the template header document,
but not the text, is entered in your file cabinet when it shouldnt be.
This problem only occurs if you select a handling type.
If you create a normal document from within another document and do not
do Next Screen to go to the handling field, when you Gold k you get a
different message (below) and it is removed from your file cabinet.
Do you really want to delete current document (Y/N)? [N]
This apparently is an issue for the customer.
Any fixes before I SPR it ?
Thanks,
Clive Barham

My guess at what is happening is that when you use MEMO handling ALL-IN-1
creates an initial .WPL file which the WPS-PLUS editor then edits. If you
quit from the editor WPS-PLUS reverts back to what it started with, i.e.
the initial .WPL file.
If the handling does not create an initial file then the WPS-PLUS editor
creates the .WPL file. If you quit from the WPS-PLUS editor knows that
because it created the .WPL file it must delete it and remove the file
cabinet information.
