3491.0. "UNSHARING ATTACHMENTS AND REMOVING SHARED POINTERS" by SNOC01::IPSSG_JW () Thu Nov 04 1993 03:44

	ALL-IN-1 V3.0 has a CABINET function called UNSHARE_DOCUMENT that
moves a document from the shared area to the user's private area.
When a document with attachments is sent this function ONLY unshares
the main document NOT the attachments.

We have a currently have utility under V2.4 that removes a user
documents and attachments from the shared areas and refiles them
into the users private area. In the process the attachments are
appended to the main document and the shared area pointers removed.

ALL-IN-1 V3.0 with drawer structure adds an extra level of complexity
to this process. What would like to be acheived is the same process
but using latest ALL-IN-1 V3.0 functions.

Does anyone have a utility that will either append the attachments to
the main document and remove all pointers from the shared areas OR
refile the attachments from the main document and again remove all
	pointers to the shared areas.

    Hi,

In principle I would have thought that your existing procedure would
    work OK.

Does your application run through all users doing a NEWDIR to each one?
If so you can leave it as it is, with the restriction that shared
documents in drawers other than the users' MAIN drawers will not be
processed. ALternatively you can change the control loop from NEWDIR to
each user, to instead be A loop doing CABINET SET_DRAWER to each
    drawer.

There is an example of a loop through all drawers in
    		OA$LIB:SM_FCVR_PRE_TEST.SCP

    Cheers

p.s. I loved the brilliant wind-up of the moderators. Though "All-in-1"
and "Allin1" are old hat, I think you can claim "ALL-In-1" as a new
    misspelling ;^)
