3489.1 | Is this just a MUp prob? | AIMTEC::WICKS_A | U.S.A 2 England 0 - I was there! | Wed Nov 03 1993 16:32 | 8 |
| Lars-Olof,
Is this reproduceable on a system that does not have the yet unreleased
v3.0A on it?

Andrew,
Yes, three customer has reported this, and all of them are running
ALL-IN-1 v3.0-1. This problem has been verified inhouse on 3.0A
systems.
I'm not abel to test on English systems, so if you can't reproduce the
problem this might be a I18N-problem.
Regards,
LOM

3489.3 | I'm 100% at v3.0A today | AIMTEC::WICKS_A | U.S.A 2 England 0 - I was there! | Thu Nov 04 1993 16:47 | 10 |
| Lars,
at the moment I don't have anything other than v3.0A systems to hand so
I didn't try it on a v3.0 or v3.0-1 English version - sorry
can someone else have a try?

3489.4 | Other LLVs? | STKOFF::MARTENSSON | LOM - Sweden | Wed Nov 10 1993 09:39 | 32 |
| Hi All (especially LLV-countries),
As Andrew can't reproduce this on ALL-IN-1/ENGLISH, this might be an
I18N-problem.
Denmark, Norway, Germany, Finland ....... Are you there? Can you help
me and verify.
If you have two ALL-IN-1 sytstems, it will take you just a couple of
minutes:
1 Load and activate the DSO-pak on the systems
2 On systen A, create a drawer, make it shared, *NET with read access
3 On system B, add that drawer to your filecab, and select the new
drawer as current.
4 Try to read a new mail message
If you don't have two systems to play around with, you are welcome to
access a test drawer on a node called STKOFF (ALL-IN-1/SWEDISH v3.0A).
System/partition: STKOFF
Username: MANAGER
Drawer: TEST
Best Regards
LOM

| Lars,
no problem with ALL-IN-1/GERMAN.
From the error message (CAB_NEED_MORE) I would guess that the
symbol #UNREADFOLDER is empty. I have no idea why this should
happen after having selected a remote drawer. Did you have a
look at a TRACE?
Cheers,
helmut

Lom,
If they are running V3.0-1, there was a problem with the FCS not always
recognising the INBOX. ICF #9 I believe resolves this problem.
If the problem is reproduceable on V3.0A (MUPA) machines, then check to
see if SYSTEM_FOLDERS.DAT has been correctly converted. It's part of
the manual post installation tasks for MUPA. To check system folders,
run SYS$SYSTEM:OAFC$SYSFOLD_SEED, choose option 6, and type ENUS as a
language. MAIN should be the first listed entry, followed by INBOX. If
INBOX comes first, and you're running MUPA, you haven't done the
conversion.
Kevin.

3489.8 | sorry me, lucky you ;) | STKOFF::MARTENSSON | LOM - Sweden | Wed Nov 10 1993 14:06 | 29 |
| Hi,
re .7
Yes, the conversion has been done, and if you enter ENUS you will first
find MAIN, and then INBOX.
Simular if you look at SVSV, first you find HUVUDLDA an next INKORG.
The problem is always reproduceable, both on ALL-IN-1/SVENSKA v3.0-1
and v3.0A (saveset a created 17-AUG-1993 11:00:32.00).
re .6
Sorry Jan, I will include the Dutch version next time ;). Nice to hear
that your LLV is OK.
re .5
Helmut,
How is your golf?
Yes, the symbol #UNREADFOLDER is empty.
So, only Swedish ALL-IN-1 seems to have this problem.
Our MAIN drawer i HUVUDLDA, where is a char >ASCII(127)
SLOVENSKY,CESKY and GREEK has also eightbit char in their translation
of MAIN. Is v3 out ready for this products?
Any idea?

LOM

3489.9 | Don't know about Greek | AIMTEC::WICKS_A | U.S.A 2 England 0 - I was there! | Wed Nov 10 1993 17:12 | 13 |
| lars,
I saw announcements for the Czech and Slovak versions shipping a couple
of months back but I don't have any contacts in those countries and
since they will hopefully fail to qualify for the World Cup next
Wednesday I probably won't get to meet anyone!!
I think I18N is supported out of Israel now - maybe Chaim knows
someone?

3489.10 | Czech,Slovak: Yes / Greek: No | PAULUS::HOFMANN | Stefan Hofmann, LC Frankfurt, ISE | Thu Nov 11 1993 08:39 | 17 |
| Hello LOM and Andrew,
Slovak and Czech for V3 is out for more than half a year. Greek only
exists in V2.4, so no MAIN drawer in Greek. But we also produced
Russian, Polish and Turkish version.
You are right that they use characters like the Swedish , but for
their languages they use different scripts (Russian = Latin-Cyrillic,
Turkish = Latin-5, Polish, Czech and Slovak = Latin 2).
And then they probably defined MAIN drawer names for their language,
which contain only <127 chars. Maybe their is a problem which only
appears with your HUVUDLDA, but we should have found it earlier then.
Finally: yes ISE/Israel takes over ALL-IN-1 from us with some
assistance in translation from ISE/Valbonne.

| Thanks ALL,
Time for a CLD. The cutomer has paid 70 k$ for the DSO, and has
5000 ALL-IN-1 users on 8 different systems. I suppose the customer soon
going to be upset!
