    Hi,

    I have a customer who purchased postscript upgrades for both the HPII
    and HPIII D printers. I have read all previous notes regarding
    postscript on HP printers.

    When we send a postscript file (using the .EPS clipart) to the printer,
    it will print, but then you cannot send a WPL file to it or another
    postscript file until you physically remove the postscript cartridge.
    This is using the PS print style - ALL-IN-1 V3.0 and WPS-PLUS v4.1.

    My question is: are others out there doing this, could we modify the
    printer table termination or reset sequence, or is it necessary to reset
    through a VMS queue using a device control library?

    I know how this is handled with our PS printers, but not HP. Any help
    is always appreciated,

    -jackie

3485.1Are the two related?ALOS01::MACE::Conferencing-UserWed Nov 03 1993 05:0514
re -.0

	I don't know if the problems are related, but my customer has just
finished upgrading to v3.0 of ALL-IN-1 and is having problems printing to
a HPII laserjet. Apparently, the .PRA file that they were using under
v2.4 worked fine until they moved to v3.0. They need to get a new .PRA file
and PRINTER TYPE description in order to make the HPII work properly.
Apparently the one that the are curently using does not work. They
are using a combination of WordPerfect and WPSPLUS as editors.

Thanks

3485.2What version of WPS-PLUSIOSG::NEWLANDRichard Newland, IOSG, REO2-G/L2Wed Nov 03 1993 10:0511
What version of WPS-PLUS was being used with ALL-IN-1 V2.4 - the originally
shipped V3.1 or the V4.0 update. If it was WPS-PLUS V3.1 then new WPS-PLUS
Printer Table files have to be used because V3.1 files cannot be used with
V4.0.

The ALL-IN-1 V3.0 kit includes a LASERJET.PRA WPS-PLUS Printer Table file
for HP LaserJet II printers. Are you using this file?

3485.3Can I get Something to Compare against?ALOSLS::HEIGHTMon Nov 08 1993 04:309
    The customer is using the LASERJET.PRA file but would like to know what
    the settings are for this printer type under the PT option of ALL-IN-1.
    Does the .PRA file that comes with V3.0 work? And can anyone send me
    the definition of this printer type so that I can compare it to what my
    customer s using?

    Thanks,

3485.4See OA$LIB:CREATE_PRINTERTYPES.SCPIOSG::NEWLANDRichard Newland, IOSG, REO2-G/L2Tue Nov 09 1993 10:4812
The OA$LIB:CREATE_PRINTERTYPES.SCP script creates the initial Printer Type
entry. If you look for the code which creates the LASERJET record you can
see the settings for each field. The Printer Device (field name PT_DEVICE)
specifies which WPS-PLUS Printer Table to use.

Printer Type entries mainly control how the listing files are printed, and
not how the WPS-PLUS Formatter formats the document. You should first
check that the ALL-IN-1 Printer Type entry specifies the correct WPS-PLUS
Printer Table.
