Converter Record Length Problem in ALL-IN-1 WPSPLUS to ASCII/TEXT MAILbus X.400 Gateway, MRX, uses ALL-IN-1 converter libraries to convert WPSPLUS bodypart received in NBS file to ASCII/TEXT. Previously MRX was using ALL-IN-1 V2.3 converter libraries. When a WPSPLUS file with at least one record greater than 512 bytes is sent to MRX, it fails with RMS record length error during WPSPLUS to ASCII/TEXT conversion. Now, the current version of MRX that is being under test uses ALL-IN-1 V3.0 converter libraries. When the same WPSPLUS file is passed through new version of MRX, it is converted successfully. Could anybody (from ALL-IN-1/WPS-PLUS development team) let us know whether any problems around WPSPLUS to ASCII conversion have been fixed in ALL-IN-1 V3.*. This is just for our satisfaction that it was a known problem and not solved mysteriously. - Arun (MAILbus Gateway Team Member)

3457.2 | Problems have been fixed | IOSG::NEWLAND | Richard Newland, IOSG, REO2-G/L2 | Wed Oct 27 1993 16:38 | 17 |
Arun is visiting from the Bombay office and perhaps doesn't know the location of other groups, so I walked upstairs to chat to him. Some time during ALL-IN-1 V3.0 development I put someone from the Message Router group in contact with the WPS-PLUS group to get the latest WPL and DX text dataset routines. It was found that the versions being used were very old, and maybe were older than the versions in ALL-IN-1 V2.3. I remember that there was a record length problem which occurred when the resultant file specification was more than 64 bytes and overwrote other RMS data structures and caused various problems. The problem was fixed but I don't remember in which version. Richard |
