Attached is the ALL-IN-1 Sales Update article that has been held up due to
delays in getting new part numbers. It is now ready and will be published in the
next Sales Update.

The new prices are unfortunately still not on DSPS, partly due to the same
problem. If you need to know the new prices across the CPU tiers contact me and
I will mail them to you - they have all been approved at various levels.

A new ALL-IN-1 PID will shortly be available along with a new ALL-IN-1 strategy
document that will show how LinkWorks can actually extend the life of ALL-IN-1
in your accounts, by reaching departmental LANs surrounding ALL-IN-1 and
bringing them into the IS fold.

On October 12, 1993, Digital announced additional licensing options for
ALL-IN-1 recasting it as a very cost effective server to Windows and
Macintosh clients from small workgroups to proven enterprise-wide
configurations. In addition, price reductions on existing products and
options were also announced.  These prices will encourage customers to 
extend their deployment of these products. 


ANNOUNCING NEW ALL-IN-1 LICENSING OPTIONS IN SUPPORT OF TEAMLINKS CLIENTS 
AND VTs

In June 1993, Digital announced its intention to offer licensing options
for components of our leading ALL-IN-1 IOS Server product.  This was driven
by our strategy to expand ALL-IN-1 from a terminal based system to a
networked server for distributed TeamLinks clients.  

ALL-IN-1 customers can move their PC and Macintosh users to TeamLinks
clients, while keeping ALL-IN-1 IOS as their server. This simultaneously
satisfies end-user demands to use their preferred desktop environment and
applications, while enabling IS Managers to protect their investment in
ALL-IN-1 and server-based business applications. 

In support of this evolution to a client-server system, two additional 
ALL-IN-1 licensing options are available from October 12th, 1993:

o The ALL-IN-1 Core Services License - $249 per user, also available on a
  Capacity license basis

o The ALL-IN-1 Client Services Access License - $120 per Personal Use 
  license, also available on a Capacity license basis

The ALL-IN-1 Core Services License is the full ALL-IN-1 Integrated Office
System (IOS) functionality less the license to use the WPS-PLUS word
processor and the Time Management (TM) sub-system. Neither of these
components of ALL-IN-1 supports a Windows or Macintosh interface and
therefore cannot be utilized in a true client-server environment.  

This license is ideal for TeamLinks users with ALL-IN-1 IOS as their
server if they need to access ALL-IN-1 applications in terminal emulation
mode. End-users may utilize their word processor of choice on the desktop
and continue to use all the other ALL-IN-1 services to store and forward
documents. This license is also valuable to new terminal users who want
the freedom to use their word processor and time management applications
of choice such as WordPerfect and Calendar Manager. 

Because WPS-PLUS and Time Management are not included, the ALL-IN-1 Core
Services License is significantly less than the cost of full ALL-IN-1
IOS. This license should be sold to terminal users who want to use
WordPerfect and/or Calendar Manager, as well as TeamLinks users who also
need to access some ALL-IN-1 applications in terminal emulation mode. 

The ALL-IN-1 Client Services Access License allows new TeamLinks V2.0
users who are also new users to a non-Capacity licensed ALL-IN-1 system,
access to ALL-IN-1 IOS Mail, File Cabinet and Directory Services without
incurring the cost of full ALL-IN-1. This license is also available on a
Capacity basis for brand new installations of ALL-IN-1 IOS specifically
purchased to support TeamLinks V2.0 clients and non-TeamLinks intelligent
desktops only. THIS LICENSE IS NOT VALID FOR VT OR TERMINAL EMULATION
ACCESS TO ALL-IN-1 IOS.

In addition, a TeamLinks V2.0 Client license accompanying the client
software must be purchased for each TeamLinks client connected.  The
ALL-IN-1 CLient Services Access License should be sold to new TeamLinks
users who wish to take advantage of some of the leading features of
ALL-IN-1 such as enterprise file sharing, or IS Managers looking for a
proven, robust and easy to manage PC server, but have no need to access any
ALL-IN-1 based applications.

ANNOUNCING PRICE REDUCTIONS ON ALL-IN-1 IOS AND SELECTIVE OPTIONS 
(Effective October 12th 1993).

To provide a more competitively priced solution and remove some of today's
existing pricing objections for the ALL-IN-1 family of products, Digital
also announced price reductions on major components of ALL-IN-1. These
reductions are in keeping with the evolution of ALL-IN-1 as a server to
intelligent desktop clients and the market pricing strategies employed in
this environment. 

o The full ALL-IN-1 IOS license - Now only $399 per user (also available on a 
  Capacity license basis).

  Complete ALL-IN-1 IOS V3.0 functionality, including WPS-PLUS and time 
  management, in support of VTs and PCs in terminal emulation mode and 
  TeamLinks V2.0 clients with the installation of the Mandatory Update Patch 
  (MUPA) and TeamLinks Connection V2.0 (TLC). (Supplied free-of-charge on the 
  same media as the MUPA).

o Distributed Share Option (DSO) - Now priced at $4995 regardless of CPU
  rating.

    Enables full file cabinet access and sharing with remote ALL-IN-1 IOS
    systems as if the file cabinets were located locally.

o ALL-IN-1 DESKtop Client Licenses - Now only $79 per Personal Use license.

    This product integrates character cell DOS PCs and Macintosh V6.0 with
    ALL-IN-1 IOS and STARTER.  It enables desktop users to take advantage 
    of their ALL-IN-1 IOS mail and networked-based applications while working
    primarily with their personal desktop application software of choice.
    Terminal emulation to ALL-IN-1 and simplified file transfer between 
    the desktop and IOS server are included.
    
o ALL-IN-1 Personal Assistant - Now only $69 per Personal Use license or a 
  price of $4995 regardless of CPU rating.

    The ALL-IN-1 Personal Assistant assists ALL-IN-1 users in the 
    management of large numbers of mail messages and documents they must deal 
    with on a daily basis. The Personal Assistant contains a set of text 
    searching and filtering capabilities that lets users establish a set of 
    RULES (simple conditional statements) which can be applied against any mail 
    or file cabinet folder. If the conditions specified by the RULE (or RULES) 
    are satisfied by the document or mail message header, the ALL-IN-1 Personal 
    Assistant executes the actions requested by the user.
 
o ALL-IN-1 TeamRoute Server - Now only $160 per Personal Use license (also 
  available on a capacity license basis).

    TeamRoute is Digital's premiere workflow solution for ALL-IN-1 users.
    TeamRoute is capable of routing any document or file stored in an ALL-IN-1 
    IOS file cabinet to any user on the network.  The document can be a form, 
    word processing document, image, CAD drawing, spreadsheet, etc.  The 
    originator of the routed item specifies the routing list and the document 
    is then routed in the order specified.  As a template is processed a 
    current status and history can be easily obtained.  TeamRoute for 
    ALL-IN-1 is also interoperable with the TeamRoute component of Digital's 
    TeamLinks for Windows and Macintosh clients.

    PLEASE NOTE THAT THE TEAMLINKS V2.0 CLIENT CANNOT ACCESS THE ALL-IN-1 
    TeamRoute SERVER - this is being addressed and will be available in 
    the future.
