3404.0. "ALL-IN-1 V3.0 DATA SET FILE LAYOUT RELATIONSHIPs" by SNOC01::IPSSG_JW () Mon Oct 18 1993 02:57

We have a need to modify under program control the ALL-IN-1 Version 3.0
"PARTITION.DAT", the users "FILECAB.DAT" plus the Main folder DOCDB.DAT
    and suplemental DRAWERS DOCDB's.DAT.

Could advice or information be supplied to give the file layout of the
Main Drawer's DAF.DAT and the fields of that data sets relationship to
the corresponding Main drawer's DOCDB.DAT field layout. Further to this
could similar be posted for the secondary drawers DAF.DAT/DOCDB.DAT
    relationship.

Curiousity question. Why is the file layout of the users DAF.DAT not
    published please ?

    Thanks

The file layout of these data sets is documented in "ALL-IN-1: Managing
and Programming V3.0". The layout is, however, prone to change from
version to version. The relationship between the various files is also
    well documented.

I ma curious to know why you feel you need to modify the files under
program control. Why don't you let ALL-IN-1 do this for you? It may be
a lot easier to call ALL-IN-1 to do the work rather than attempt to
build in all the code needed to maintain the relationships. The IOS
engineers have, after all, had quite a bit of practice at this!
Corrupted file cabinets are a horrible sight to behold...
