3385.0. "Questions on GPC and ALL-IN-1 V3.0-1" by UTRTSC::SMEETS (Martin, CSC Office support (NL)) Tue Oct 12 1993 17:27

Hi,

A customer who recently upgraded to ALL-IN-1 V3.0-1 has three questions about
group conferencing.

Q1: User deletes all entries from the notesbook. Now if this user decides to
add an conference to his notesbook, he gets the error "No such class".
This is a known bug, see STARS article with title "Group Conferencing V1.0:
'No Such Class' Error Occurs When Adding Conference"

Customer would like to know if this bug is solved in an PFR or patch

Q2: When printing a selection of notes in ALL-IN-1 V2.4 every note was printed
on a single page. However in ALL-IN-1 V3.0 a number of notes is printed on a
single page. The customer likes the behaviour of ALL-IN-1 V2.4 and would
appreciate it if this behaviour could be re-implemented in V3.0. Is this
    possible ?

Q3: In ALL-IN-1 V2.4 one could add a remote conference to the notebook via
node::disklogical:[directory]conference_name. In V3.0 this seems not to work
anymore. Customer has no to specify the full diskname in order to get things
    working. Any idea what's happening.

Thanks,

Martin

    Martin,

Off the top of my head I can tell you that Q1: is a known problem which
we definitely aim to resolve in a future release.

The others I can't say for certain, Stuart?

Since the translation of the logical would be performed by the server
rather than by the client (GPC or otherwise) it would seem unlikely
that the ALL-IN-1 version has anything to do with it.

Can you access the conference using the TPU (command-line) interface?
If not what error do you get?

More info on question 3.

1. Adding the remote conference via the GPC interface
   Result: Conference not accessible

2. <spawn to DCL, startup NOTES with TPU command line
Result: COnference from 1. can be accessed

3. Add the remote conference via TPU command line
Result: Conference is also accessible via GPC

Strange ....

Martin

p.s Any comments on question 2 ?

    An amateur's answer to Q2...

The multiple print option simply appends each note to a file.
Presumably you could add in an append of a file containing a form-feed
    (e.g. OA$LIB:FF.LIS) after each note?
